Xacitarxan or Khadjitarkhan [xadʒitarˈxan], alternatively called Actarxan [ʌʑtʌrˈxan] or Astrakhan, was a medieval city at the right bank of Volga, situated approximately 12km north of the modern city of Astrakhan.
