Sport1 is a Dutch premium television service owned by Chellomedia, the European content division of Liberty Global. Sport1 launched together with it's sister service Film1 on February 1, 2006 and replaced the Canal+ Netherlands channels. The service offers eight sport channels, the number of channels is necessary to live broadcast games of the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League at the same time.
