Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP) was originally a 1200km long bicycle race from Paris to Brest and back to Paris. It is the oldest bicycling event that's still regularly run. Since 1931 it has become two independent long distance bicycle tours. One is randonnée (also called Brevet), where cyclists ride individually. This is held every four years.
