Illyria (Ancient Greek Ἰλλυρία; Latin Illyria ; see also Illyricum) was in Classical antiquity a region in the western part of today's Balkan Peninsula, founded by the tribes and clans of Illyrians, an ancient people who spoke the Illyrian languages.
