Grootegast is a municipality and a village in the northeastern Netherlands. It is the sister city of Kingston, Tasmania. Population centres Doezum, Enumatil, Faan, Grootegast, Kornhorn, Lutjegast, Niekerk, Oldekerk, Opende, Sebaldeburen. In some of these villages they still speak the West Frisian language.
