A griddle is a piece of cooking equipment. It is a flat plate of metal of appropriate thickness, usually aluminium, stainless steel or cast iron. It is used for cooking fried items like pancakes, oatcakes, grilled cheese, unleavened breads (roti or chapati), dosa and Welsh cakes.
