Clowne (pronounced as Clown) is a village and civil parish in the Bolsover district of Derbyshire, England. It forms part of the Bolsover constituency . History Clowne, originally 'Clune', then Clune-town, the Clown-town, then Clowne-town, then Clowne is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It can trace its existence back to the 1500s as a small rural farming community.
