The Trekboeren were nomadic pastoral descendants of Dutch (often Frisian) settlers of the Cape Colony, Flemish settlers, French Huguenot refugees, German Protestants, and smaller numbers of Danes, and Scots as well as Indians, Malays and Khoi.
