Swalmen (Limburgish and town dialect: Zjwame)'s a town in the southeastern Netherlands. The town's situated between the German border and the Meuse river (Maas in Dutch). Until January 1, 2007, Swalmen was a separate municipality, covering the villages Swalmen, Asselt and Boukoul. These are now part of the municipality of Roermond.
