Shiremoor (originally called Tynemouthshire Moor)'s a small town in the Metropolitian Borough of North Tyneside. Located approximatley 3.5 miles inland of Whitley Bay and approximatley 3 miles north of The Tyne Tunnel. A mile or so north of Shiremoor, the extensive built-up areas of North Tyneside change abruptly into green belt stretching north into south east Northumberland.
