Resia is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 90 km northwest of Trieste and about 35 km north of Udine, on the border with Slovenia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,244 and an area of 119.0 km². Resia borders the following municipalities: Kobarid (Slovenia), Chiusaforte, Lusevera, Bovec (Slovenia), Resiutta, Venzone.
