Reculver's a popular summer resort situated about east of Herne Bay, on the North Kent coast of England. Its main features are the ruins of a Roman fort, or "castrum", a ruined medieval church, and a country park, which includes an interpretation centre run by the Kent Wildlife Trust. Owing to historic coastal erosion, the church ruins are now on the edge of a cliff. They form a backdrop to wide Thames-side marshes, and are sited within the remains of the Roman, Saxon Shore fort.
