Poynton's a town in the civil parish of Poynton with Worth, in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It lies north from Macclesfield and south of Stockport. In the 2001 census, the civil parish was recorded as having a population of 14,433.
