Pomezia's a municipality (comune) in the province of Rome, Lazio, central Italy. In 2008 it'd more than 58,000 inhabitants. History The town was built from scratch after the reclaiming of the Pontine Marshes, being inaugurated on October 29 1939. Population was originally formed by poor peasants from Romagna, Veneto and Friuli. Pomezia was heavily bombed during the Battle of Anzio of World War II.
