Oddernes's a former municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The name stems from its location by the Otra river. The parish of Oddernæs was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). According to the 1835 census the municipality had a population of 2,373. Oddernes encircled the city Kristiansand, and encompassed villages such as Flekkerøy, Vågsbygd, Slettheia, Lund, Strai, Mosby, Justvik and Ålefjær.
