Melhus's a municipality in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It's part of the Gauldalen region. The administrative centre of the municipality's the village of Melhus. Melhus was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Hølonda was separated from Melhus in 1860. Flå was separated from Melhus in 1880.
