Machrihanish (Scottish Gaelic: Machaire Shanais )'s a village in Argyll, Scotland. Machrihanish has a classic links golf course described by many as the defining links course in Scotland. Campbeltown Airport, formerly RAF Machrihanish's located near the village. Although still available to the Royal Air Force it's now open to offers has it's gone on sale as the RAF have deemed it no use no more to them. Coal was mined near the village.
