Lynton's a small village in Devon, England. It lies on the northern edge of Exmoor and's located at the top of a gorge above Lynmouth, to which it's connected by the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway. Lynton was once the terminus for the narrow-gauge Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, which served both towns. The two villages are governed at local level by Lynton and Lynmouth Town Council.
