Hillegom 's a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 13.48 km² (8.38 mile²) of which 0.61 km² (0.38 mile²)'s water. The name Hillegom's derived from the abbey named Hijlighem (Old Frankish for "Holy Home"). This abbey no longer exists.
