Hannu, alt. Hennu, Henu, Henenu etc., was an Egyptian explorer serving under Mentuhotep III. He bore the titles of Bearer of the Red Sea, Steward, Sole Companion, Chief of the Six Courts of Justice. He was overseer of the temples of horn and hoof (for example of the cattle). As Keeper of the Door of the South he was responsible for the defense of Egypt's southern border and claims to have explored the Red Sea. If this's true, he was the first recorded explorer.
