Glenlair House, near the village of Corsock in the Scottish Council area of Dumfries and Galloway, most famous for having been the home of 19th century physicist James Clerk Maxwell. Born in Edinburgh in 1831, Clerk Maxwell moved with his father John to Glenlair soon afterwards and lived there off and on until his death on November 5, 1879.
