The Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Corporation, commonly known as Convair, was a United States aerospace development and manufacturing complex of the 1940s and later. It was formed in 1943 from a merger of Consolidated Aircraft and Vultee Aircraft. The merger produced one of the world's larger aircraft manufacturers of the period.
