In Scottish geography, a Carse (the modern form of older Scots kerse)'s an area of low-lying, typically alluvial and fertile land occupying certain Scottish river valleys, such as the River Forth, where it contrasts with the Ochil Hills to the north, from which it's separated by the Ochil Fault.
