Burhou (pronounced bu-ROO)'s a tiny island approximately 1.4 miles (2.25 km) northwest of Alderney that's part of the Channel Islands. It's no permanent residents, and's a bird sanctuary, so landing there's banned from March 15 to July 27. The island's wildlife includes a colony of puffins (declining in numbers) and large numbers of rabbits. It's no landing stage as such, but visitors use a small inlet.
