Buckongahelas (c. 1720 - May 1805) was a regionally and nationally renowned Lenape chief, counselor and warrior. He lived during the days of the French and Indian War and when the young American republic began advancing westward. It's known that he moved his people from the American state of Delaware westward eventually to the present-day city of Muncie, Indiana.
