Bream's a general term for a number of species of freshwater and marine fish belonging to a variety of genera including: Abramis (for example A. brama, the carp bream); Acanthopagrus; Argyrops; Blicca; Brama; Etelis; Lepomis; Gymnocranius; Lethrinus; Nemipterus; Rhabdosargus and Scolopsis.
