Bishopthorpe's a village and civil parish south of York in the City of York unitary authority and ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It's close to the River Ouse, and has just over 3000 inhabitants. Prior to 1996 it was part of the Selby district. Bishopthorpe was made a conservation area in 1989.
